Chemotherapy and hair loss

If you think you may be loosing your hair from chemotherapy and you are planning on or even just thinking about a wig, It really is best to go for a consultation before you actually need it. Seeing your own hair and style can be very helpful to your wig stylist. It will be easier to determine which type of wig and what customizing may be necessary to achieve the absolute best and most natural look possible.
Another thing I've found is having a solution ahead of time can put your mind at ease, knowing you have a wig that will look great. Even if you may not lose your hair, having an option picked out in case you need it can be a comfort. I don't know if most wig stylists charge for a consultation to come up with a plan (just in case) but the peace of mind may be worth it. I've had many women come in, and we decide what will be the best wig and color etc. I make a record of it and if needed we're ready. I personally don't charge for consultations when it's a medical situation, be it a "just in case" or not. But depending on where you live and who you go to things may be different. I do recommend it in any case if possible. A little peace of mind can go a long way during such a difficult time.
I hope this will be helpful to some of you. I will be posting weekly on different topics I feel I can help shed some light on. I don't claim to know everything, just what I've learned from my experience and the feed back my clients have shared with me.
Thanks for listening , John
